Interest rates at historic lows.
Government spending at record levels.
And we get growth at a 1.6% annual rate.
The report fed into growing fears that the nation could be at risk of a new economic downturn known as a double-dip recession. While the economy is still growing, growth of less than 2% is considered too weak to prompt businesses to start hiring again.
Whoever wrote this shit should use their last dollar to purchase a clue.
1. There's no double dip. The first recession never ended. It was just manipulated and extended by government and fed meddling.
2. Business won't hire because they have no demand for their products because 10% OF THE WORKERS IN THE US ARE UNEMPLOYED AND CLOSE TO 20% ARE UNDEREMPLOYED.
If wages keep falling and the unemployment situation isnt improving, then who do they expect us to believe is doing the added consuming?

Accused "Craigslist killer" Philip Markoff commits suicide in Boston Jail

Accused “Craigslist Killer” Philip Markoff committed suicide at Nashua Street Jail in Boston, where he was being held awaiting trial in the slaying of Julissa Brisman, 26, who was visiting from New York, according to Steven Tompkins, spokesman for the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.
Officials do not know how he died, according to Tompkins. Markoff, 24, was pronounced dead at 10:17 this morning. Tompkins said authorities are investigating.
Authorities have said that Markoff shot Brisman, who was visiting Boston from New York, three times with a handgun on April 14, 2009 after they struggled in the doorway of her room on the 20th floor of the Marriott Copley in Boston. A bullet pierced her heart. Prosecutors said Markoff also battered her head.
“I’m shocked and saddened by the news,” said John Salsberg, Markoff’s attorney.
Markoff’s next court appearance was a hearing scheduled for mid-September, he said.
Salsberg declined to comment further.
Markoff had been placed on suicide watch shortly after his arrest nearly a week after the slaying.
In April 2009, Markoff was examined by medical staff at the jail and put in a special cell under camera surveillance after a correction officer saw marks on his neck that suggested he had tried to use shoelaces to hang himself, the Globe reported at the time.
Police arrested Markoff, who was living in Quincy, on April 20, 2009 after stopping him on Interstate 93 in Walpole. Markoff told police he was headed to the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut and was with his fiancee, Megan McAllister, also was in the car.
Markoff and McAllister were driven to Boston in separate cars. He was held, while McAllister was released. In his arraignment the next day, Markoff pleaded not guilty to homicide and armed robbery charges.
Markoff, a former Boston University medical student, was also charged with armed robbery and kidnapping in two similar incidents in which the victims were not injured. Prosecutors contend that Markoff, who may have been motivated by gambling debts, preyed on prostitutes and erotic masseuses he met at hotels after seeing the women's ads on the Craigslist website.
Someone better call the printing company in Shreveport and tell them to reduce the "MY CHILD IS AN HONOR STUDENT AT MARTIN LUTHER KING MIDDLE SCHOOL" bumper sticker order by six.
Hiring an employee is a big step. There's so much you have to do:
1. Hire a payroll service
2. Workmans comp insurance
3. Compliance posters, etc.
4) Lunch Room and Microwave
5) Sexual Harassment Seminars
6.) Cleaning/janitorial service to clean the urine splatter from the toilet seat(s) and baffroom floor, as well as the dirty Tupperware containers that Milton in I.T. left in teh employee dining room kitchen sink.
Seriously, talk to the Intuit Payroll people or ADP or Paychex. They can help with all of that. In fact, I wouldn't even consider hiring employees without using a service like that (I use ADP).
Agreed 169%. Payroll companies take care of all of the pain-in-the-ass shit with employees and the gubmint. Yes it costs money, but unless yuo have a full-time CPA in-house, you're an idiot if you don't use a payroll service. I can't imagine having to deal with that shit myself.
