I have seen how this plays out, the whole tough love bullshit? Yeah, those fucking asshole parents will rarely if ever see their grandkids. That's how that shit goes down in the real world. Treat a kid like shit when they turn 18 and you will never see your grandkids. You will spend Christmas alone, awaiting a fucking phone call.



My parents are not this way. But I know friends who treat there parents this way. After all it's tough love, remember!

Not anymore. I live out in the middle of nowhere, very rural. It's cheap to live here and I made some good investments and did some other stuff to get a nest egg years ago. Don't get me wrong, I am not rich by any means, I live a very bare-bones and in fact almost squalid life. Being in the deep country is part of it but not the whole thing, years ago I loved people and had many friends even as I lived in the same place. I had some prolonged traumatic events however and after that I can't stand to see the sight of another human. At the same time I'm unbearably lonely.
